At Yoga Story, we embrace the integration and interplay of various disciplines that connect the mind and body, like alignment, flow, therapy, meditation, mobility and strength, to foster a holistic, transformational wellness experience.

Our group classes are kept small to ensure each participant receives personalised attention, allowing our teachers to focus on refining techniques and fostering a safer and more effective practice.

Yoga Basics (Align)

A practice focused on learning foundational poses (Yoga Asanas) at a slower pace.

Strengthen and Stretch in this mindful practice, with detailed alignment cues, extra attention and guidance from the teacher, taught in a small group format. This class may include breath work, sun salutations, and relaxation.

Basics is a class for all levels, but especially suitable to get back into a yoga practice (during recovery or after an inactive period), and an excellent starting point for beginners.

Hatha (Align)

This grounding yoga practice serves as a foundation for various yoga styles. It focuses on connecting the body and mind, and developing stability and alignment in yoga poses. Various props (blocks, belts, etc) may be used to enhance the experience of the poses, offer modifications, and refine technique.
Short meditation, breath work (pranayama), and rest are included.

All levels are welcome.

Chair Yoga (Align)

Refine your Hatha yoga practice with the use of yoga chairs and other props such as bolsters, blocks, belts, blankets, wall, etc. In this specialised grounding class, poses can be fully experienced, refined, and held longer with an emphasis on alignment. Short meditation, breath work (pranayama), and rest are included.

All levels are welcome.

Iyengar (Align)

Experience the precision and alignment-focused practice of Iyengar Yoga. Rooted in the teachings of B.K.S. Iyengar, this method emphasises the importance of correct body alignment and the use of props for optimal support.

Our qualified teachers guide you through a systematic approach, promoting strength, flexibility, and balance. Immerse yourself in the transformative journey of Iyengar Yoga for a harmonious union of body and mind.

Vinyasa (Align+Flow)

A dynamic yoga practice focused on  moving with the breath and alignment. Short meditation, breath work (pranayama), and rest are included.

Not ideal for complete beginners, but all levels are welcome to experience an invigorating and dynamic practice.

Yin-Yang (Flow+Therapy)

A yoga practice that combines strengthening and softening elements with the purpose of balancing the body. Students will experience long deep stretches combined with invigorating practice to cultivate a meditative mind. Some pranayama and chanting may be included.

Suitable for students of all levels looking to balance strength with flexibility.

Upside Down Foundation (Strength + Mobility)

A specialized practice focusing on strength and conditioning of your upper body. Learn the foundation for how to stand on your hands and forearms systematically with a supportive community.

All levels are welcome.

Gentle Yoga (Therapy)

A slower practice where poses are passively held for long periods of time. The aim is to calm the mind and nervous system as well as to improve flexibility by penetrating deep into the connective tissues and joints, helping to release tension, blockages and balancing the energy flow throughout the body.

All levels are welcome.

Sound Healing & Movement (Therapy)

Immerse in restorative bliss with our sound bath session. Crystal bowls and shamanic drums create harmonic vibrations, inducing a meditative state for healing. Experience psychological and physiological well-being as you delve into the captivating sounds. Brief passive movements at the start enhance receptivity to the session's transformative frequencies.

Yin Yoga (Therapy)

Experience profound relaxation and balance restoration with Yin Yoga. This gentle practice promotes stillness and surrender, guiding you through mindful movement and extended holds to release tension in deeper tissues.

Rooted in traditional Chinese medicine and yoga philosophy, Yin Yoga emphasizes passive, floor-based poses held for longer periods. Surrendering into each posture promotes physical and emotional release while enhancing circulation.

Yoga Therapy

A healing practice focusing on improving flexibility, range of movement, and bringing the body and mind back to a state of balance. Students will be guided to practice with proper alignment, engagement of the muscles and mindfulness in a functional way that works for their body.

Pillars

Our classes integrate various aspects of the yoga practice and disciplines. Some classes specify which pillars are predominant to allow our students to choose their modality.

Align

Classes under the "Align" pillar have an emphasis on alignment and serve as a foundation for understanding yoga poses. Acknowledging the uniqueness of each body and the potential need for personalised modifications, these classes empower students to cultivate a comprehensive understanding of foundational poses. The focus on alignment equips practitioners with the tools and intelligence to adapt their practice according to their individual needs, fostering a journey of self-awareness and growth.

Flow

The "Flow" pillar embodies our most dynamic and fast-paced practice. Move with the breath to transition from one pose to the next, as exemplified in our invigorating vinyasa sessions. Prior experience with Align classes is recommended for an optimal practice.

Therapy

Within the "Therapy" pillar, our experienced teachers seamlessly integrate traditional yoga practices with therapeutic techniques, crafting a healing and restorative experience. This unhurried practices unfold in various ways, incorporating therapeutic elements such as sound healing, dynamic stretching, prolonged holding positions, and the use of props. Meditation
