Workshop Structure:

1. 60-Minute Group Practice

  • Immerse yourself in a mixed-level Hatha class demonstrating effective class flow and practical integration of workshop concepts.

2. Lecture & Discussion: Conducting a 60-Minute All-Level Class

  • Defining and Integrating Your Vision:

    • Explore how your personal practice influences the content you teach.

    • Identify and articulate intentions and themes rooted in your personal values and insights gained through practice.

  • Class Planning:

    • Learn to plan classes from choosing themes to structuring sequences.

    • Construct balanced sequences progressing from warm-ups to challenging asanas and a calming cooldown.

  • Opening, Tone & Pace:

    • Techniques for engaging and preparing students effectively.

    • Adjust tone and pace to match class themes and student needs.

  • Class Management:

    • Observe and respond to class dynamics and individual student needs.

    • Tips for room management and maintaining class flow.

    • Strategies for demonstration and adjustments, with an emphasis on safety and consent.

  • Closing a Class:

    • Lead a restorative Savasana, integrate meditation, and pranayama.

    • Tips for closing class to leave students feeling refreshed and connected.

  • Post-Class Considerations:

    • Best practice for gathering feedback and interacting with students.

    • Reflect on taught classes and identify areas for improvement.
